Will Hammond is the Chief Privacy Officer at NIQ, which since its combination with GfK in 2023, is now the world’s largest providers of market research and consumer intelligence. In this role, Will is lead counsel for global privacy and cybersecurity initiatives. This builds on an expansive 20-year career spanning compliance, privacy, and legal roles. Previously, as General Counsel at GfK SE, he steered the Legal and Compliance teams through a private equity deal cycle and played a key role in establishing a centralized Data Privacy function post-GDPR enactment. His earlier roles include establishing the global compliance function at adidas Group AG as Director of Compliance and at Sony Corporation, managing consumer compliance issues in Europe. Will holds a Master of Laws from Monash University and holds certifications in privacy and project management.

He is also an active member of the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR) Legal Affairs Committee.
