Catherine Gorey

Senior Legal Counsel - AI Legal Practice Group HSBC

Catherine Gorey is senior legal counsel at HSBC. In her role, she leads the compliance programme for the EU AI Act and has been integral to the groupwide design of AI Governance. Her primary focus has been in delivering a support model for legal engagement and risk management on the use of AI, which has involved deep dives into the risk events presented by the use of AI and a read across of existing controls. Prior to her role leading on the governance of AI, Catherine has experience in commercial contracting, cybersecurity and incident management, outsourcing regulation and the design and implementation of risk management frameworks.
