Tony is a PhD candidate, sessional tutor and marker with Griffith University. His PhD topic is “ACEs and criminogenic risk factors of youth in Queensland Youth Justice – policy and practice implications for violent, repeat offending”. He worked in Youth Justice for 19 years. Tony introduced Trauma-Informed Practice into Queensland Youth Justice and studying trauma became an area of passion. Tony holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology and an Honours degree in Psychology. He completed graduate certificates in Suicide Prevention Studies and TESOL. In 2013 he was awarded a Health and Community Services Award for Workforce Champion. His interests are running, cricket, sports, jazz music, movies, bushwalking, body-surfing, and spending time with his kids and grandchildren.

Attendees will examine the importance of raising awareness around these issues, regardless of the specific context in which they work, whether in youth justice, social services, or other support environments.
