The role of QA within gaming studios has come a long way from its roots in bug detection. With a big push for shifting left in the production cycle and with QA functions looking to other areas to add value to the player gaming experience -there is a real opportunity for the function to provide analytical capabilities to the business. QA is in a unique position to provide insights which can be utilised not only by production and dev teams but also for publishing and customer support too. Join this workshop to share ideas on how to strengthen this opportunity within your function, and collaboratively examine ways to open this conversation within your studio.
Recent years have seen a rise in user-generated content; and not only in the big titles. With user-generated content improving engagement and sparking creativity within game communities, it is becoming a bigger priority for player-centricity. This user-generated content presents a challenge for localization. Not only is there a pressure to localize with shorter release cycles in the current environment, but the speed of localization within UGC also adds to this pressure. Whether you are already working with UGC or not, it could be on the horizon for many games as an engagement strategy, and this workshop will help participants prepare for this demand. Join to share strategies for localizing with player slang, and language nuances and addressing compliance with localization in a user-generated world..
Adapting to the trends and tragedies in social media continues to be top of mind for those faced with engaging existing communities as well as with building new ones. Increasingly, this means building an agile strategy which can cope with underlying changes to the rules and practices governing those platforms. This workshop will help Community professionals to meet those challenges, share ideas and strategies on how we can protect our communities and mitigate the risks central moderation changes may impose upon them.

Ensuring seamless multi-player functionality across platforms is one of the biggest challenges in game development. Automated testing can significantly reduce the time and effort required to identify synchronization issues, platform-specific bugs, and network inconsistencies. In this 90-minute hands-on workshop, attendees will learn how to implement cross-platform automated tests for multi-player games using GameDriver.
We’ll start with an overview of automated testing principles for networked gameplay, followed by a guided walkthrough of setting up GameDriver in a multi-player environment. Participants will gain practical experience writing and executing tests that validate player interactions, session stability, and cross-platform compatibility. The session will also cover best practices for handling latency, server-side validation, and scaling test coverage across PC, console, and mobile platforms.
By the end of the workshop, attendees will have the skills to integrate automated multi-player testing into their pipelines, improving development efficiency and ensuring a smoother player experience across all platforms.
