Testimonial From Marina IIari, CEO, Terra Localizations
What initiative have you implemented to promote
diversity equity and inclusion?
So diversity and inclusion are really part of our company, Terra. We are a women-owned, minority-owned company certified, and also we're certified as a great place to work. So really, diversity and inclusion are woven into everything that we do at Terra. We've created several initiatives, including a committee. We also do training, provide resources for employees, and recently published a policy where our company stands with diversity, equity, and inclusion. So yeah, those are the initiatives that we're currently working on.
How do you prioritize these values in your company's overall strategy goal?
We prioritize inclusion because it's really part of our culture; it's really part of our mission as a company. But it's not just about saying that you support this, it's about the actions that you take. So what's your commitment? And that comes in the forms of providing actual training, in terms of recruiting, providing safe spaces for employees, and also the publishing of a policy, the creation of a committee. So all those things represent actual actions that you can take, and those are things that we're doing at Terra.
What are some of your highlights from GQF 2023?
The conference has been amazing so far. I am super glad my team and I could make it. I have two highlights. One of them is the panel that I moderated for diversity and inclusion. It was just a lovely group of finalists and a lovely discussion. I was hoping that the discussion would continue throughout the conference, and it happened. So that made me very happy. And then the networking event offsite was also very fun, an opportunity to just play games and get to know each other more. So it was a really relaxing atmosphere, and yeah, I really enjoyed it.
Describe GQF in three words or less!
If I had to describe it in three words, it would be focused, specialized, and fellowship.
