The need for more diversity and inclusion within games is becoming more apparent in today’s climate, with many game avatars and storylines not being tailored towards minority groups, resulting in a lack of new user engagement and retention. This is also a work in progress for the games industry itself, with insufficient representation of minority groups in leading roles. Change is more important now than ever before, to appeal to wider markets, encourage and retain new users, and improve company cultures across the entire industry.
