PRE-EVENT WORKSHOP DAY

2:00 PM WORKSHOP D: Implementing Multi-Player Cross-Platform Tests with GameDriver

Ensuring seamless multi-player functionality across platforms is one of the biggest challenges in game development. Automated testing can significantly reduce the time and effort required to identify synchronization issues, platform-specific bugs, and network inconsistencies. In this 90-minute hands-on workshop, attendees will learn how to implement cross-platform automated tests for multi-player games using GameDriver.

We’ll start with an overview of automated testing principles for networked gameplay, followed by a guided walkthrough of setting up GameDriver in a multi-player environment. Participants will gain practical experience writing and executing tests that validate player interactions, session stability, and cross-platform compatibility. The session will also cover best practices for handling latency, server-side validation, and scaling test coverage across PC, console, and mobile platforms.

By the end of the workshop, attendees will have the skills to integrate automated multi-player testing into their pipelines, improving development efficiency and ensuring a smoother player experience across all platforms.

CONFERENCE DAY ONE

4:00 PM PRESENTATION: AI vs. Traditional Test Automation: Striking the Right Balance

As game development becomes more complex, so do quality assurance challenges. Traditional test automation has long been a cornerstone of an efficient testing strategy, offering structured, deterministic validation of gameplay mechanics, UI elements, and backend systems. But with the rise of AI-driven testing, which promises adaptive, exploratory, and self-learning approaches, testers are faced with a critical question: How do we integrate these technologies effectively without sacrificing reliability or control?

In this talk, we’ll discuss the strengths and limitations of AI-driven and traditional test automation in game testing. We’ll explore real-world use cases, discuss when AI can enhance or replace scripted automation, and examine the risks of overreliance on either approach. Attendees will leave with practical strategies for leveraging both methodologies to improve test coverage, efficiency, and overall stability of their games.
