Alexander van Eeuwijk embarked on his academic journey in the field of Electrical Engineering at the University of Eindhoven. In 1992, Alexander began his professional career at Philips Healthcare as a researcher. His experience expanded to include system architecture, further broadening his technical expertise. Eventually, he moved to the IP department of Philips, where he concentrated on patent creation for Consumer Lifestyle products. He became a Dutch and European patent attorney. His role evolved from patent creation to licensing and counseling activities. His role extended to managing a global group of attorneys who oversee the extensive IP portfolio of Philips Lighting. This portfolio encompasses patents, designs, trademarks, domain names, and trade secrets. Currently, he is the general manager of the IP organisation of Signify.
