Xavier Urbaneja holds a PhD in Chemistry (University of Barcelona, Spain) and an Executive MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland). Along with his technical and business education, he has over 15 years of international experience in creating and capturing value from technologies: from research through commercialization. Xavier joined SICPA in 2012, and since then he has held different management roles: from R&D to product management, technical sales, business development and global strategy. Today, as Head of Brand Protection, Xavier helps companies protect their products and brand value, while fighting counterfeiting, unauthorized overproduction, and grey market trading.
