Marianna Polykrati is the Group Treasurer at Avramar, where she plays a pivotal role in managing liquidity and driving strategic financial initiatives. Her career includes serving as well as Group Treasurer at leading FMCG groups such as Chipita and Vivartia as well as the financial sector, gaining valuable experience in evaluating businesses from both a shareholder’s perspective and a financial institution’s credit standpoint. Marianna leads a diverse treasury team comprising members from more than 3 different generations, fostering an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives drive innovation and collaboration. She is passionate about elevating the role of treasury professionals as strategic business partners, embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) within team dynamics and corporate strategy. As a Boardroom member, a think-tank dedicated to preparing women for board positions, Marianna recognizes the critical intersection between gender diversity, treasury leadership, and risk management. The treasurer’s role is central to navigating financial risks, and Marianna believes that diverse leadership teams bring broader perspectives and more effective decision-making in risk mitigation and strategic planning. Her commitment to women in treasury extends beyond advocacy; she actively fosters leadership pathways for women in finance, championing their role in shaping resilient, forward-thinking organizations. She also champions the integration of technology including Automation, FinTech, AI, and Blockchain to transform treasury functions and empower businesses to adapt in an evolving digital landscape, enhanced further from her being Ambassador in Greece for the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC), the world’s largest industry association for blockchain and digital assets. Additionally, as an Honorary Board Member of the Hellenic Association of Treasurers, she is committed to building robust networks and facilitating knowledge exchange among treasury professionals. Marianna’s vision is to transform treasury leadership by embedding sustainability and DE&I at the core of business strategies, fostering inclusive cultures, and leveraging technology to drive innovation and growth.
As ED&I continues to evolve as key pillars of corporate success, organisations embedding these values into their culture see tangible benefits, to both the brands and reputations.
As the FCA has recently emphasised the responsibility of boards and senior management in driving cultural change to cultivate more inclusive and diverse working environments, treasury leaders hold responsibility for educating themselves in being part of a driving force behind fostering cultures of inclusivity, and championing D&I initiatives within business strategy.
Designed to equip treasury leaders with real-life examples of ED&I in action, and how to measurably make a difference, this discussion will speak to:
