Maximising Commercial Outcomes and Overcoming Complex Construction and Logistical Delivery Challenges on Australia's Major Rail Freight Project

By 2030, more than 32 million tonnes of freight on our highways and railways between Melbourne and Brisbane will need to be moved and by 2050, freight volumes are forecast to grow more than double. The existing road infrastructure and rail line is already heavily congested and cannot accommodate highly efficient, long double-stacked trains due to restrictions on overhead wiring and tunnels. This then creates a burden on service reliability, transit times and freight availability.

The Australian Government’s Inland Rail project is the integral solution to meeting this increased demand. Connecting capital cities, farms, mines and ports, the Inland Rail will deliver a road competitive service to improve Australia’s freight economy for the future.

With this is mind, IQPC is proud to host the 2nd Annual Inland Rail Summit 2019 to address the the plans and strategies to overcome complex construction and engineering project delivery and understanding the key benefits and opportunities for supply chain and logistics when operational.
