In-house legal teams are plagued by the lack of data that supports what they are doing and when they are doing it. However, to improve inefficiencies within the department and make the business case for increased headcount, legal teams need data that tracks processes such as contract negotiation. It is based on this data that teams can begin to understand where their time is spent and the value of this work. It is also necessary to do this without increasing the amount of admin work that lawyers themselves must do.
