Sarah Tilley, Product Management Director, Live Services, PlayStation Studio (She/Her)

I’m a life-long cross platform and format gamer, who enjoys both multiplayer and solo RPGs. My first multiplayer game was Pong! However, it wasn’t until the early 90s that I really found my gaming vibe with Live games. While at university I discovered MUDs, courtesy of a friend who was using one as a model for AI. It’s safe to say that I’ve loved creating stories with other players since, no matter which side of the screen I’m on. While I was developing a passion for online gaming, I was also developing a career as a research scientist in biophysics. In 2006 I changed career and started as a games master for Codemasters Online Games. I’ve worked mostly on MMOs including Lord of the Rings Online, RIFT, Wildstar, Eve Online, as well as a few lesser-known games and some that didn’t make it over the starting line. Most recently I’ve been lucky enough to work on unannounced games both at DPS Games and PlayStation London Studio. In June 2024 I joined the PlayStation Studios Live Services team. For many years I specialised in converting subscription games to Free-to-Play models. Now I take a more customised approach and apply my knowledge to find the vision of a successful live game that fits a particular game, genre or developer goal. I combine both careers by using data informed approaches to create sustainable gaming experiences that delight players and keep play fresh. Outside work you’ll find me spinning, felting or knitting with fibre, unearthing history in community archaeology projects or glued to live action roleplay streams.
