-  1991 PhD degree in civil aircraft engineering (TU Berlin, Germany)

-   Since 1991 with BAM

-   Since 2007 head of BAM Division 3.4 Safety of Storage Containers (for radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel)

-   Since 2017 Spokesman of BAM Focus Area ENERGY Responsibilities:

•  Cask design testing and safety evaluation for interim storage and final disposal of spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste
• Various R&D projects concerning material performance and structural behavior under mechanical, thermal and radiation loads, in normal operation and accidental scenarios, ageing management and long-term behaviour of systems, structures and components.
• National and international cooperation
• Information and support to administration, industry, and the public

                • Since 2010 member of the German Waste Management Commission - Committee on Waste              Conditioning, Transport and Interim Storage (ESK-AZ)

                • Consultant for the IAEA
