Originally from Baden-Württemberg, Alex moved to Hamburg to study energy engineering. After completing his Master's degree, he worked for 6 years at Siemens Gamesa, where he was last responsible for the development of high-temperature heat storage systems as Team Lead for Systems Engineering. In December 2022, he joined EnBW Portfolio Development in Hamburg to develop system integration concepts for offshore wind. The hottest topic around of course is hydrogen and offshore electrolysis, which the Certified Systems Engineer would love to dive into with you.
• Decentralised production and main impact on foundation / OSS platform design
• Costs and risks for centralized offshore production
• Resulting infrastructural needs
• Turbine manufacturer’s view and potential impact on powertrain
• Validation of hydrogen systems for offshore application
• Ramp up of Electrolyzer manufacturing capacity
• Relying on established standards and supply chain for offshore wind
• Business case analysis
• Risk and win for operators vs. OEMs
