Mr Atul Bhuchar

Atul Bhuchar is the Group Payments Head at DBS Global Transaction Services. In this role, he leads the strategy, development, innovation and commercialisation of DBS’ payables management solutions for businesses and financial institutions internationally. Under his leadership, the bank has pioneered several new digital payment initiatives, such as being the 1^st bank to go-live on SWIFT gpi in Singapore, Hong Kong and Indonesia; 1^st bank to launch Online gpi tracking for cross-border payments in Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia and Taiwan; leveraging APIs to launch Singapore’s first instant electronic payment service for travel insurance claims for MSIG Insurance and for instant payables and receivables solutions in Hong Kong (Faster Payments System), India (UPI) and Indonesia (RTOL Bersama). DBS continues to be at the forefront of payments transformation. DBS is one of the 12 banks worldwide to participate in the SWIFT proof of concept for instant cross-border payments into Australia. Atul was also involved in the development of DBS Treasury Prism, the world’s first online treasury and cash management platform for CFOs and corporate treasurers. Since joining DBS in 2004, Atul has held other roles such as Head of Cash Management in DBS India, where he was responsible for establishing and leading the bank's cash management business in the country, and thereafter, Group Head of Liquidity Management, Liabilities and Accounts.

Atul has over two decades of experience across treasury, corporate banking, securities services, trade finance and cash management, while taking up various roles across operations, sales, product management and relationship management functions. Atul started his career with Citibank and then worked with HSBC, before joining DBS. He holds an MBA from Delhi University’s Faculty of Management Studies and Bachelor degree in Engineering also from Delhi University in India.
