Ester Guiu

Director - Business & Launch Excellence, Global Commercial Operations Almirall

Ester Guiu brings nearly 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on innovation, strategic project management, and commercial operations. She began her career in research, gaining extensive experience before transitioning into the generics and biosimilars sector. Twelve years ago, Ester joined Almirall, a leading company in medical dermatology, where she has led diverse projects across commercial, marketing, M&A, and corporate strategy domains, with a strong emphasis on launch readiness and excellence. She has successfully participated in over five pan-European launches and has been instrumental in developing Almirall’s launch readiness capabilities. Ester holds a PhD in Chemistry, with postdoctoral research experience in the Netherlands and Germany. She also earned an MBA in 2009 and completed executive programs at ESADE in 2020 and 2022. In addition to her professional achievements, she is a member of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) and one of the founders of the HBA Barcelona chapter, advocating for women leadership and gender equity. Driven by a passion for continuous learning and knowledge exchange, Ester is always eager to tackle new challenges and collaborate with forward-thinking individuals.
