Refining IT Director Marathon Petroleum Corporation

Mr. Campbell is Refining Director of IT at Marathon Petroleum Corporation, overseeing IT and OT delivery across all MPC refining and renewables facilities. Prior to joining MPC in 2024, Mr. Campbell was an IT Executive at Chevron Corporation, serving on the Integration Management Office for the PDC Energy acquisition and integration. He was responsible for all Information & Operational Technology strategy, planning and execution to enable the $7.6B acquisition and capture of $500MM+ in synergies. Mr. Campbell began his career at Amgen, where he enabled the biotechnology giant’s growth by scaling its enterprise infrastructure over a 5-year period. After completing his MBA, he joined Chevron as a member of the Chevron IT Leadership Development program. Over the next 16 years, he worked across Upstream, Downstream, and Energy Technology companies to enable and differentiate Chevron’s businesses. In addition to domestic leadership roles in California, Colorado, Louisiana and Texas, Mr. Campbell also had more than 6 years of international leadership spanning roles in the The Hague, Netherlands and Atyrau, Kazakhstan. In his last international assignment, Mr. Campbell served as the Chief Information Officer for Tengizchevroil, LLP, a Joint Venture between 4 leading Oil & Gas companies, leading the company’s digital transformation during a huge growth period ramping up operations to 1MM BOE/D. Mr. Campbell holds a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles and an MBA in Corporate Strategy from the University of Southern California
