Walter Pesenti is the Vice President of Manufacturing Excellence at NOVA Chemicals, where he leads the charge in operational excellence, asset management, operations, and capital project programs. His role includes spearheading a significant transformation initiative to achieve top-quartile reliability, turnaround efficiency, and maintenance performance by the end of 2025, enabled by advanced digital tools. Pesenti is a staunch advocate for safety and quality, ensuring these values are flawlessly integrated into all operations. Joining NOVA Chemicals in January 2022, Pesenti brought over 30 years of extensive experience in the global downstream, chemicals, and upstream sectors. His career is marked by successful business transformations that have significantly mitigated risks and delivered substantial financial savings. Before his current role, Pesenti was the Global Petrochemicals Operational Excellence Manager at INEOS Aromatics. His impressive career includes leadership positions in capital projects, turnarounds, reliability, maintenance, and operations at industry giants such as ExxonMobil, Shell, and BP. Pesenti holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
