Meeting Modern Student Needs: How Learning Design Strategies are Delivering Superior Student Experiences and Increasing Retention
Teaching methods and
learning technologies are changing at a pace that is unprecedented in the
history of higher education, with Australian education institutions needing to
innovate and increase quality of education and outcomes delivered to improve
student appeal and university profile.
In a competitive environment learning design has been brought into sharper focus as students look for a wider range of benefits from their courses. However, established practices all too frequently work against the agile, responsive curricula required by 21st century institutions, students and employers.
As the role and best practices around learning design become more clearly defined, it will become easier for designers to connect and share best practices. Enhancing, updating and reworking – even just some aspects of curriculum design - can help universities, and those studying or working with them, to gain an advantage in challenging times.
Ahead of the Learning Designer’s Summit
2019 we explore some of the strategies local and international educational
institutions are harnessing to meet modern student needs, bridge the academic
and workplace skills gap, and deliver exceptional student experiences.
