Prof. Dr.-Ing. Imke Engelhardt

Head of the Laboratory for Steel and Lightweight Structures Munich University of Applied Sciences

Imke Engelhardt is professor for structural steelwork and welding at the university of applied Science Munich since 2011. Her major research topics are the fatigue strength and fatigue improvement of welded structures. In this field her research is close related to offshore structures. She worked in this field already during her time as a research assistant at the Technical University of Braunschweig, where she finished her phd 2008. Besides her research carrier she worked for the engineering office IPU for several years being also involved in foundation design for Offshore Wind Turbines.
